“It's for our mum. We would love to give her this gift to celebrate her being lady captain. I will attach a photo of her in a pink dress and her lady captain jacket.. please could you draw her wearing that?
Detail wise: Top of pic " come on Eileen "
Top and center " Galway Bay lady captain 2018".
Either on a golf buggy or on the course, definitely with her iphone in one hand.
A road sign in the background with: Dubai, Peniscola, Swinford . Trying to think how to get a pizza in there. Glass of red wine.
Perhaps at her feet a big (overfilled) handbag with a black a4 folder, bank lodgement slips/ lipstick/ pair of glasses/ ( just a thought but maybe the slice of pizza/ red wine could go here)?
Black frame please”
“My boss in work is retiring and we’re having his party next Friday. Is there any chance you could do a caricature for next week? He’s a principal in St. Fintan’s National School in Sutton. He was there for 38 years. Is there any chance you could fit the following somehow, any reference to them would be fantastic
- Santry Stadium (a sign post with that would be fab. And another signpost saying Co. Clare?)
- Psychotherapy
- Spiderman
- Golf
- 38 years 1980 to 2018
And could he wear a suit please with a white shirt and tie?”
Hi Brendan, I hope you're well. My mum, boyfriend and I have all ordered caricatures from you recently and I am hoping to do the same again for a work colleague. Unfortunately the turnaround is quite tight as it would be needed in our city centre Dublin office for next Friday .
Julie works in our events team and is leaving after 16 years. She has always worked with our company merchandise and brand hence the references below!
· Two photos attached of Julie – she has green eyes.
· Cream or white top, navy trousers.
· A white swipe card for work hanging from her belt with the attached AL green symbol on it.
· Holding a large glass of gin and tonic.
· An open or closed golf umbrella.
Our office is along the Liffey beside the Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin so if it was possible to put the bridge or at least the river in the background that would be great.
· An Emirates plane in the sky (not too large)
“Hi Brendan. My husband Paul works as a agent for Irish Pride & Barrons Bakery - in the past he’s also worked for Lenihans Bakery - I have a few photos of his vans with labels on them and one of Barrons Bakery & the man himself -hopefully these will help. its 25 years that Paul will have been working as a breadman. This is to celebrate that milestone”
[To do the background I googled “Barrons Bakery” and got a Google Streetview angle where the side of the shop was visible, with the sign painted on the side. So I did the Irish Pride van parked on the path, with Barrons in view behind]
“Brendan, a million thank you's for the fantastic caricature. Paul was amazed & lost for words when he saw it - it is taking pride of place in our kitchen. Thank you again” - Liesl
“Hi there, I saw one of your caricatures in a friends house and think they are amazing. I'm looking to get one done for my boss who is leaving work. I'm just collating a few pics to send to you. We are looking to present it to him next Friday 24th, can you do this?
IFSC house in the background. We are also thinking a signpost with one past saying Client Services and the other saying Change. These were both departments he managed. At the bottom by his feet, we were thinking of a little sack/bag which had ‘€€€’ on it and perhaps in the Aegon colours. I’ll send you the logo separately”
“Thank you so much Brendan, it looks amazing. You have been a pleasure to work with so efficient and accommodating and thanks for sending before I had actually paid!! You’ve done an amazing job so really appreciate you getting this over the line in a short space of time” - Philippa
“Thinking of getting a caricature for a colleague that has transferred to another school. Geraldine is a French teacher, loves traveling! Quite glam drives a BMW loves fashion! She was teaching with us in Hazelwood College! So would be lovely if you could put in Some where Au Revoir from All the Hazelnuts!!! Would there room to include our school crest or something? She has transferred to another school and was working with us for 17 years. So could we have her holding a gin and tonic? She used to organise all the school tours to Paris and has often gone skiing to Andorra”
“It’s fab! I love it :)” - Michelle
“This is for a first anniversary gift.
We met singing in a choir so if you had any way to incorporate singing/ music that would be great. Paul asked me out in 'The Palace' on Camden street. This was on the 11th June 2010. We got engaged at home in Dublin on the 21st November 2015. We got married in Beechwood Church in Ranelagh on 11th November 2016. Their website has good images.
We love travel and have been to the following places since getting married - Waterford, London, Rome, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, Antigua, Barbados, St. Kitt's , Martinique, St. Maarten, Glasgow, Belfast, Zambia, Dingle, Mullingar. Drinks - Guinness & Prosecco”
“This looks absolutely perfect!!! Thank you so much!” - Claire
Order Details:
"She works for Aer Lingus but she is leaving us next week. She constantly says the same two sayings…..”sweet as a nut” and calls people “star bar” !! If you can incorporate those two sayings it would be great.
She famously got a rickshaw home from grafton st. to Clontarf…the poor chap was wrecked !! Again it would be great if you could do something along those lines!"
Finished Cartoon:
"Picture received this morning, it’s perfect. Thanks again for everything" - Mark
“I was in contact with you through Facebook last week in regards to a caricature. I was hoping to have it by Thursday if possible as the event is on Thursday night. I'm looking for a caricature for a garda retirement.. attached are the photos, she is the lady in the white top in the first photo.. if possible if she could be in uniform her shoulder numbers are KE 918 if possible to have them put on, with a cake in one hand and a lollipop stick saying kids crossing like the wardens use in the other. If we could put a sign post in the back ground that says Kildare on one, Carbury on the other and if possible Granny duties on a third. And then just in the direction of the granny duties sign put some baby bottles and nappies or something. That would be perfect.”
“That looks perfect, Thank you so much and I appreciate how quickly you did that for me” - Nuala
ORDER DETAILS:
“You did a wedding notification for friends of mine a couple of years ago which I loved as it was witty but kind (as I think some caricatures can be cruel but this one was not at all), and they were instantly recognizable in it, so I got your contact details from them.
My partner is going to be 60 later this year and is more or less also resolved to retire in or around the same time. A cartoon that could be framed and signed on the back would be a great present for him to mark both the events. I thought a cartoon of either him driving or being driven in a Dublin Bus bus (being driven by someone else would mean you could show him with feet up on a seat, infamous hat on and bag of clubs beside him) down a bus lane with the caption Life In the Fast Lane but with Fast crossed out and Bus written in over/ beside it as a correction would be hilarious yet meaningful. A back drop of Dublin skyline in the same pink-y colour as the Hotel California album would make the Eagles connection. If he were in the bus, the destination blind on the bus could say Woodbrook Express”
[I advised against doing the bus driven by someone else, because if we introduce another face into the cartoon everyone who sees it will ask who it is. As in you can't have an anonymous face]
In the background is The Spire.
“Thanks. I will definitely recommend you to others! - Marian (Dublin)

"A colleague of ours is retiring as Executive Dean of Arts and Humanites at University of Limerick - after he first takes a sabbatical at his house in France. We'd like a cartoon of him, perhaps reading a book on politics or a novel (his favourite pastime!) ?in a garden chair? with his dog at his feet, with a glass of red wine"
"The picture arrived yesterday and we are all delighted – many thanks! I will get it mounted and framed over the weekend and then we will present it next week. The book titles were a good final touch.
Again, many thanks for such a great result!" - Alison (Limerick)
